We represent the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico
We are a mixed group composed by students of all Engineering disciplines. Our University is right in the Capital of Puerto Rico, San Juan. We are part of one of the many robotics team in our 100x35 island. For more information about our beautiful Puerto Rico click here.

Our Logo
Our University mascot is a beaver. Yes, a beaver! We know, we know, it looks like a bear (look at the yellow tooth!). We wanted to give a little twist to our traditional beaver for one more robotic to honor our team. The oficial colors of our university are royal blue and yellow, that is why our logo has those colors, included with a pop of color from the E of VEX. The Polytechnic University is our only sponsor so we want to represent them with respect and pride.
The Mentor
In 2007, I began as a mentor for a top-level robotics team in the FIRST league, winning the pass to the world competition, the first time a Puerto Rican team has achieved such an execution. Then, we developed teams for the elementary level in the platform Robotic Lego. When the new platform of VEX IQ Robotics emerged, we managed to train Puerto Rican teams and participate in the international and world competitions winning the championship and prize of excellence every year. For three years, we have been able to form the university’s team, PUPR, in VEX U and have a room dedicated to these purposes and participate in national competitions.

The Team

Manuel Rosado
Captian, mechanic, CAD specialist, I have a bachelor's in Robotics Engineering and I'm currently getting my master's in Electrical Engineering. I have plenty of experience as I've been doing VEX since high school. Without joining the VEX club in high school I wouldn't have majored in Robotics.

Francisco García
Vice-captain, I'm studying Computer Engineering. I've been participating in VEX since ninth grade. I liked to build and create new things, and as time went by, I fell in love with robotics.

Bryan Laureano
Lead programmer, currently enrolled in Computer Science. Due to my prior experience on robotics in high school, I pursued the roll as programmer in the vex team.

Rafael Bonilla
Mechanic, I'm studying Mechanical Engineering with Aerospace. I joined VEX because I like to build. Being in the team is fun and I've learned a lot of new things.

Gabriel Delgado
Programmer, I'm studying Computer Engineering. I joined because I wanted to gain more experience programming hardware.

Eluis González
Mechanic, I'm studying Mechanical Engineering with Aerospace. I joined because I wanted to work and familiarize myself with robotics because I've dreamt about the idea of building my own robot.

Saul Hernández
Mechanic, I'm studying Mechanical Engineering with Aerospace. I decided to join because I've always liked how robots worked and I wanted to get closer and know more about robotics.

Ashley Reyes
Mechanic, I study Mechanical Engineering. I joined the team because I like robotics and wanted to expand my knowledge in that area.

Reynaldo Rivero
Mechanic, I'm studying Computer Engineering. I joined because my friend Emmanuel was talking about robotics and I found it interesting. About a month later, I could say that I really liked it.

Emmanuel Vázquez
Mechanic, I'm studying Mechanical Engineering with Aerospace. When I was in high school, I was part of the robotics club. I really liked my time there, and the experience I got was worth it. Since I loved it, I decided I wanted to be part of a robotics team again.

Carlos Yournet
Mechanic and driver, I'm studying Mechanical Engineering with Aerospace. I joined because I had competed in high school, and I really loved the environment. I believe VEX is gonna take me to a better future from the knowledge it's given me.
